A novel-length story. I had been planning out a story called "In The Blink of an Eye" for awhile now. It's about how the lives of ten teenagers in a small town change after a random act of school yard violence. However, in light of the incidents in Littleton and Taber, I'm still debating whether or not to continue with it. Since it will be novel-length (it's been a while since I've tackled anything on that large a scale!) it will be quite a bit of time before I get to anything dealing with violence and things may have settled down by then. But I'm still debating whether or not to just scrap all the work (about 20 hours so far) of planning and mapping I've done. Check back for updates or let me know with a quick E-mail.
In case you were wondering, the synopsis is: IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE: whenever you think it can't happen to you, to your town, it does. A sleepy little town in Canada learns this the hard way when their high school is the site of a random act of violence that leaves the townspeople picking up the pieces of their shattered lives and wondering what they did wrong.
Please remember that I thought this up before the events of the past two weeks.
